First anime you ever watched? (1 Viewer)

Well you can always ask recs here, there is quite lot of people here who like anime :)

Also if you have Netflix nowadays lot of anime get released there as well so it can be easy and legal way to watch.

But there is so many around so I can see how it can feel intimidating. I guess it's same with new kpop fans just tons of groups and soloist around, mvs and albums to check endlessly

I usually just use Crunchyroll since I don't have Netflix.

That's what I first thought when I was trying to figure out which anime to watch, there's so much to choose from and I can never make a decision.

I'll probably make a thread asking for recs in the future.

It's hard to decide, but you just have to give show a go when u have time to watch some. The good thing about anime is that the episodes are short so it's lot smaller commitment than watching movie or sth xd

From what I saw scrolling through I think you should watch Demon Slayer (it was one if not the most popular anime of last year!) it's better to get popular animes out of the way first I think because then you'll have something in common to talk about and the more people you bond with over anime the more less popular animes you'll discover from them too! (but I don't think u should watch Demon Slayer just for the popularity I think it's also a really great show too, I think it definitely earned it's fame~) And if you like horror then there's The Promised Neverland and Parasyte on there too which are some of my personal favourites~ Only if you like horror tho ofc

Hanako is probably Funimation show, most shows are licensed between Crunchy and Funimation with Netflix taking bite. Funimation is just shitty in that it's USA only and Netflix is also shitty if you want to watch new shows since it doesn't upload them weekly, only after they are all released. It's pretty hard to watch anime from official sites only : / Like Dorohedoro is just on Netflix Japan currently and they don't even have date when they release it in the west.

Yes, it's definitely one of strong points of new shows that people are chatting about them a lot so you can join in and be part of community. At the moment I don't think there is ongoing show that many watch on KS (apart from us two watching Hanako kun), but Demon Slayer was that around summer and fall and The Promised Neverland in the spring.

Oh I’ve heard of Demon Slayer, I probably will try that one when I have time.

Parasyte is one of the animes I’ve watched. I loved it!

My mom felt so betrayed when i started watching it since she bought it for me cause doggies but it wasnt excatly what the thought it would be. I remember i loved it but it scared me a lot.

That's me with Ruohometsän kansa / Watership Down, I lent it from library as kid cause it had nice bunnies in cover.. and in the end it was just battle royal of those bunnies trying to murder each other xd

Oh I’ve heard of Demon Slayer, I probably will try that one when I have time.

Parasyte is one of the animes I’ve watched. I loved it!

Then I definitely do reccommend The Promised Neverland, it's a slightly different kind of horror but I think together with Parasyte it's one of the best horror animes out there~
There's also Tokyo Ghoul (on Funimation I think) which has very similar themes to Parasyte but it has 4 seasons and season 2 was finished before the manga material had been so it's a little weird BUT I loved it none the less

So yeah if u ever get Funimation then I recommend Tokyo Ghoul and Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun, but Demon Slayer is definitely a must for now!

For me, It has to be between Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2. I do remember watching DB/ DBZ and Knights of the Zodiac when I had like 8 or 9 years but I know I started with Ranma 1/2 when my sister was not even born yet and I was like 5 years old.

God, i didn't realize before but I meant to say that not bad place to start Akayona isn ot biggest anime around, but it's one of new loved shoujo shows, that hopefully gets continuation at some time (the manga is amazing and sadly the anime just covers small part of it).
