These rules are here to protect discussion quality, member safety, and mutual trust. You don't need to memorize every detail, but you do need to understand the spirit: be kind, post responsibly, and help make KPOPSOURCE a welcoming haven for every fan.

Be respectful to other members, keep posts organized and appropriate, and do not attempt to work around moderation or account limits. When everyone treats each other with goodwill, the community thrives.

Essential standards covering interactions, discussions, profile media, and forum accounts.

Conduct Pillar

Be kind and respectful

  • Respect everyone: Zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, threats, or personal abuse. Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not.
  • Privacy matters: Do not share personal information about yourself or others.
  • Swearing: Mild swearing is tolerated, but not when directed at others or used in thread titles. Do not bypass the swear filter.
  • Stay on topic: A little drift is normal, but do not derail threads entirely.
  • No discrimination: No discrimination based on sexuality, politics, race, ethnicity, origin, or similar personal factors.
  • Serious topics: Handle sensitive subjects like mental health, religion, LGBTQ+ issues, ethnicity, and politics with maturity.
  • Respect staff: Treat moderators and administrators with courtesy. Contact an administrator directly if there is a concern.
  • Report hate and harassment: If you see it, report it.

Content Standards

Posting guidelines

  • English only: Use English for posts and threads. Short phrases in other languages are fine.
  • Post in the right place: Use the correct forum section. If unsure, ask staff.
  • No duplicates: Report duplicate threads so they can be merged or removed.
  • Meaningful content: No spam or empty attention-seeking negativity. Use the Questions or Ask & Feedback areas for staff issues.
  • Clear thread titles: Avoid misleading or clickbait titles.
  • Thread takeovers: Get permission from the original poster or wait a month of inactivity. Inform staff if going on hiatus.
  • External conflicts: Leave platform drama from elsewhere off KPOPSOURCE.
  • Respect do-not-tag requests: If a moderator has instructed you not to tag or interact with someone, respect it.
  • No community ads: Mentioning other communities is fine; direct links are not.
  • Constructive criticism: Feedback is allowed. Personal hate campaigns are not.
  • No inappropriate content: No nudity, pornography, gore, violence, or harmful content. 18+ content is only allowed where specifically permitted and labeled.
  • No rumors or disinformation: Use reliable sources for news. Speculation is allowed; fanfiction in the correct category is exempt.
  • Responsible reporting: Do not abuse the report function or moderator tags.

Profile & Media

Visuals and profiles

  • Display names: Keep names appropriate. No hateful, abusive, or vulgar language.
  • Image uploads: Maximum 3 MB. Most image formats and GIFs are accepted. Max 3 MB
  • Signature size: Maximum 900 px wide by 400 px high. Max 900×400px
  • Visual content: The same content rules that apply to posts also apply to images, GIFs, and profile graphics.
  • No distracting graphics: Avoid flashing or excessively annoying visuals. Graphics should work in both light and dark modes.

Membership Integrity

Account rules

  • Two accounts max: Do not use one account while another is banned. 2 Accounts Max
  • No more than two: Creating more than two accounts can result in permanent bans.
  • Shared households: Use different email addresses if sharing a network. Verification may be requested if needed.
  • Editing and deleting: You can edit posts but not freely delete them. Report a post if you want it removed, with a maximum of 10 such requests per day. Max 10 / Day
  • Self-bans and deactivation: Request a self-ban in the Questions area or deactivate through account preferences.
  • Account deletion: Deletion is reserved for extreme cases. Re-registering after deletion can lead to a permanent ban.
  • Permanent bans are final: Permanent bans are not appealable.
Moderation

How moderation works.

Transparent, consistent procedures designed to maintain a civil community fairly.

Fair & Graduated Enforcement Process
Rule violations can result in warnings and warning points that expire after a month.
Do not publicly argue with warnings. Contact an administrator if you have questions.
Moderators have final say in day-to-day moderation. If you disagree with a decision, contact an administrator directly.
Stay engaged in staff conversations until issues are resolved.
Posts that break the rules are subject to moderation.
KPOPSOURCE may update these rules at any time.

Acceptance of terms

  • By registering for and using KPOPSOURCE, you agree to these terms and the community rules.
  • If you do not agree, do not register or use the services.
  • We may update these terms at any time. Continued use means acceptance of those changes.

Eligibility

Age requirements

  • Minimum Age: You must be at least 13 years old to use KPOPSOURCE. 13+ Years
  • If you are under 18, you confirm that you have parent or guardian permission.
  • Users under 13 are prohibited and may be banned immediately.

Intellectual Property

User content & licensing

  • You retain ownership of your posts, but grant KPOPSOURCE a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute them.
  • Do not post content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
  • We may remove content that violates these terms without notice.

Security Standards

Account responsibility

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Termination & Exit

Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of the rules or terms.
  • You may request account deactivation through account preferences.
  • Permanent bans are final and non-appealable.

  • We are not liable for damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our Story
KpopSource began as a small blog called ksource, created by a dedicated K-Pop fan known as @Sourcekeeper. Frustrated by the decline of welcoming, discussion-driven communities, she set out to build something different — a space where fans could talk, connect, and stay for the long term.

Over time, that simple idea grew into the community you see today. While platforms and trends have changed, the goal has remained the same: to give K-Pop fans a place that feels familiar, human, and worth returning to.
