Fans of actress Kim Sung Ryung have released a statement urging people to refrain from character assassinations following malicious rumors about "an actress being supported by her country."

This statement was prompted from a video posted earlier by a former entertainment reporter Kim Yong Ho under the title "Who is the actress supported by her country?". YouTuber Kim raised suspicions that Justice Minister nominee Cho Kuk sponsored a top star actress and that Cho's younger brother was behind it all.

Rumors of the divorce are groundless and are not worth responding to. Why are you trying to divide a happy family?"

After the allegations surfaced, Cho's preparation team for the confirmation hearing said, "The YouTube broadcast to the effect that a Justice Minister nominee sponsored the actress is totally groundless and we will quickly take all measures in civil and criminal terms."
