On the 4th, Hanteo Chart, who operates the world’s one-and-only real-time music chart, announced the Initial Chodong (first week) sales amount of EXO’s ‘OBSESSION’ (title track: ‘Obsession’) album.



With this latest release, EXO has recorded the Initial Chodong sales of more than 440,000 copies with the weekly sales of 442,771 copies during the period from November 27th to December 3rd.

According to the daily sales data provided by Hanteo Chart, EXO has sold 269,801 copies on November 27th, the first day of the release, then 93,718 copies on the 28th, 33,872 copies on the 29th, 10,285 copies on the 30th, 16,220 copies on December 1st, 13,002 copies on the 2nd, and 5,873 copies on the 3rd, the last day of the Initial Chodong sales aggregation.



With this, EXO has ranked its name on the 4th in Initial Chodong record among all the K-Pop albums released by a boy group in 2019 and 5th in Initial Chodong record among all the K-Pop albums released in 2019. Moreover, the group has taken 1st in Hanteo’s Monthly Physical Album Chart of November with the album sales over just four days from November 27th to 30th.

Apart from the inevitable repack comeback, this’ll probably be the last proper comeback for a while. With four members needing to enlist in the next year, I’m glad they’ve gone out before their group hiatus with a bang :sanapray:
