Welcome everyone to the 6th game of “Animal Kingdom”. This game is relatively simple, but will take a bit of teamwork for best results.

Before we get to the game, lets learn another fact :
A species is declared extinct after many years of not being spotted. Because it takes so long to define an entire species as extinct, it is probable that there are many species already gone that we are unaware of.

How to Play :
• There are 8 pictures I have prepared, in each picture is 5 images that are overlaid over each other (3 animals & 2 other items either related to the animals/causes of the animals endangerment). Your job is to correctly identify as many of those images as possible.
• You may work on this game in your team DM. Once you’re all confident in your answers, you can submit your answers in the following google form : here. (only one submission per team!)
This is a 24 hr game, you have 24 hrs to work on this from the time this thread was posted.
•Some animals you may not know the exact name, and that’s alright, as long as your guess is close enough to the actual animal in the image.
Please feel free to ask us any questions! :pikahappy:

Before we get to the results of the Stacked Game, lets see the answers along with all of the facts.

The theme for this was animals that lived in cooler climates.
Snow Leopard, Blue Whale & Arctic Fox (which technically isn’t endangered but I did an oopsie so just ignore that.), Seaweed (whales like to play in) and a snowflake (cold climate).

• Despite being called the snow 'leopard', this big cat is more closely related to the tiger than the leopard.

• A blue whales heart beats so loudly it can be heard from 3km away through sonar equipment.

The theme was species that can be found in China.
Red Panda, Chinese Pangolin & South China Tiger. Then an ant and bamboo.

• In southwestern China, the red panda is hunted for its fur, especially for the highly valued bushy tails, from which hats are produced. The red panda population in China has been reported to have decreased by 40 per cent over the last 50 years.

• Pangolins are the most trafficked and poached mammal.

• The South China Tiger has been listed as Critically Endangered on the China's Red List of Vertebrates and is possibly extinct in the wild since no wild individual has been recorded since the late 1980s.

The theme for this was species that can be found in Mexico.
In the image there is : human silhouette (as humans are a major cause of all 3 of these species numbers dwindling), Mexico map, Baird’s Tapir, Vaquita, & the Axolotl.

•Upon sensing danger, Baird’s Tapirs will usually hide under water.

•A survey released in 2017 estimated the vaquita population was as low as 30 individuals. An all time low for the porpoise, the population is half of what it was just the year before. And a 97% drop from the year before that.

•Today, the axolotl is still used in research as a model organism, and large numbers are bred in captivity for this purpose.

The theme for this was animals that live in hot environments.
In the image there is a bone, sun, Ethiopian Wolf, Hooded Vulture & The African Wild Dog.

•Ethiopian wolves are generally very family oriented and make up their packs with previous litters, but unlike other wolf species they often hunt alone.

•African Wild Dog pups that are old enough to eat solid food are given first priority at kills, eating even before the dominant pair.

•Threats to the hooded vulture include poisoning, hunting, loss of habitat and collisions with electricity infrastructures

The theme was animals who are good swimmers.
In the image there is a boat, ocean wave, Hawksbill sea turtle, Galapagos Penguin and Florida Manatee.

•Like other sea turtles, hawksbills are threatened by the loss of nesting and feeding habitats, excessive egg collection, fishery-related mortality, pollution, and coastal development. However, they are most threatened by wildlife trade for their beautiful shells.

•The manatees stiff whiskers (vibrissae) grow around the mouth and very fine hairs are sparsely distributed over much of the body. These small hairs provide a tactile system or sense of touch to help manatees understand their surroundings through changes in water currents and pressure wakes.

•Galapagos Penguins have many threats to the 2,000 individuals left in the wild. Climate change, disease, harvesting penguins for oil and other products, habitat loss, bycatch, predation by invasive species, etc…

The theme for this was species that live in rain forest environments.
In the image there is: A leaf, bulldozer, Golden Lion Tamarin, Mountain Gorilla & Summer’s Poison Frog.
•Golden Lion Tamarin Females usually give birth to twins. All the members of her group will help her to take care of the babies, but the dad helps the most.

•Mountain gorillas have been killed or captured by poachers. Their body parts are sold to collectors, and baby gorillas are sold illegally as pets, research subjects, or private zoo animals.

•The summers’ poison frog is an endangered species because of limited habitat range, habitat loss, and collection for the pet trade.

The theme for this is 100 individuals or less of the species shown.
In the image there is: A bush, #100, Ornate ground snake, Addax and the North African Ostrich.
•Addax herds would typically consist of 5-20 individuals, led by one dominant male. Female herd members establish their own dominance hierarchy, with the oldest individuals achieving the highest rank. It should be noted that this group structure is not as standard anymore due to their near extinction in the wild. Most addax now travel in small clusters of only a few individuals. They are considered one of the most endangered mammals in the world.

The ornate ground snake is the rarest snake on earth with less than 20 individuals in the wild.

The North African Ostrich only remains in 6 of the 18 countries where it originally occurred.
40163150-1B80-48E2-B802-CFEC65E31709.jpeg

The theme for this was animals found in swamp environments or at least “swamp-like”.
In the image there is the word swamp, cattails, Whooping Crane, European Eel & The Devils Hole Pupfish.

•Due to hunting and habitat loss, in 1941 the whooping crane was almost brought to extinction with only 21 individuals left in the wild. Conservation efforts have led to a limited recovery, in 2020 there were estimated to be 800 individuals in the wild.

•The European Eel’s life expectancy in their natural habitat is a mystery, while the species' lifespan in the wild has not been determined, captive specimens have lived over 80 years.

•Devils Hole Pupfish are only found in one small location, a cavern in Nevada called “Devils hole”. As its entire native range is a single locality, efforts to create other populations have proceeded since the 1960s and 1970s, most of which have failed.

Now onto the results:
1st Place
: @Southern Rockhopper Penguin you guessed 36/40, your team earns 75 points!
2nd Place: @Polar Bear You guessed 35/40, your team earns 50 points!
3rd Place : @Salt-marsh Harvest Mouse you guessed 24/40, your team earns 25 points!
Congratulations to all three teams:pandahappy:
