So, what do people who apply for or are curious about Events usually ask?
1. "How active do I really need to be as an Events member?"
- To be very honest, this often fluctuates. The reason why we ask that members have the ability to respond within 24-48 hours is because we can have very busy periods. Are we always busy? Definitely not, we have lives and responsibilities outside of this team of course. Once the planning for an event is complete, we usually tend to relax until we actually have to host the event. So how busy the team is depends on how quickly we can get our work done! Plus, we usually don't have too many frequent busy periods since we actually work with other staff teams to not coincide dates such as card releases or other projects!
2. "Can I not join any Events as a member?"
- That does not necessarily have to be true. The general rule is that if you don't have any responsibility with the hosting and/or a competition is based on user-voting rather than staff-voting, then Events team members are able to join Events themselves. Of course, we would organize this in such a way that the Events member would not gain any advantage during the event!
3. "What is the staff environment like?"
- You actually get to interact a lot with not only the fellow Events member but also the entire KS staff team! We do have discord channels that all of us are part of, so we interact with each other a looooooot, especially since the Events team works in conjunction with literally every other staff team. Graphics helps us with banners, Cards and Awards with prizes, Mods with point distribution, and of course, our admins keep us in check and help us out as well!
4. "Do we all work on events together or does each person come up with their own event?"
- Kinda both, it really depends. For smaller events, usually one or two events members come up with the idea and host it together. Though, of course, the entire team can work together on small events as well. When it comes to the bigger events, then we definitely work together as a team and have everyone give their opinions, etc.
5. "What if I have a super busy life but still want to join Events?"
- To be honest with you, the only hard part for you would be to host. Hosting does require a lot more activity than planning does. However, there are many events which only require you to be online for a couple of hours. So, in this case, if you can spare a couple of hours from your busy days to help plan and host the event, even if it's less than 3 hours per week, you are able to still join the events and be an active enough member. But, in case we do ask questions though, we do hope that you are able to provide answers a little more frequently at the 24-48 hour mark that we asked for.
