I honestly hope this is just a break and they reset the format next year. Too many girls go unnoticed by management that only get their chance in the SSK single tbh, sucks so much for Tomu's once a year senbatsu appearance.

I'm happy, it's less stress for the girls.
With everything that went down with Maho and ngt... Would anyone want to support?

Queen Sasshi supports this and so do I.
Maybe they didn't want Maho skyrocketing in rankings and dropping the bomb in her SSK speech? I support this as well although it's such a shame since Naachan seems like she has a shot for #1 this year.

Last year's election was a mess and then there's the whole NGT48 mess, plus literally the queens graduated (Sasshi and Sayanee). I think management wants to just take a break. I heard rumors of a big team shuffle coming soon? Maybe?
I'm scared for the team shuffles but if it puts certain overlooked members in more senbatsu appearances then I guess it's okay? I just don't want anyone having panic attacks during the announcement. The 2014(?) one was so scary.

Dangit and i was looking forward to it.
The elections each year are now a fundamental chunk of the akb identity.
Sure its kinda a blood sport but I can't think stopping it with the system growing is a super great idea.
It feels more like damage control or lack of a plan.

Or maybe they just want more time for Jurina. jk

The existing top 16 will soon be what half full of girls still in the system?

The more i think about this the less sense it makes.
Fans are clearly motivated to vote for their girl and by how she ranks.
its a huge cash machine for the company.
China is coming on line and that could get nuts.
Those folks are crazy and 4-5 million physical might be attainable.

This was gonna be my first elections :( Well at least I have the MNL48 elections but that is problematic cause members ranking outside of the top 48 will be removed from the group.

Maybe they didn't want AKB to be in the main spotlight this year because they haven't finished up on the Mahohon case yet.

Such a shame Jurina is probably a lock for number 1 but it would've been great to see Jurina, Dasu, and Naachan fighting for number 1.

Ouch that is harsh. Not even back to trainee status?

From what I read nope, just gonna be back as a Hallo Hallo Entertainment talent but not in MNL48 anymore.
