Twice was the first KGG to ever complete a Dome Tour and Blackpink is going to follow later this year.
Both amazing achievements but it really has me wondering: why were they the first ones to do it?

Why didn't Kara or SNSD do Dome tours?
Both groups performed sold out their Dome concerts and were at/above the level of Twice and BP in Japan. They could have easily sold out a Dome Tour.
Soshi didn't even do their Dome til SJJD was close to done.

Its a combination of the Korean company and the Japanese company along with whomever is the concert promoter.
The us promoter just said they never though folks(aka girls)would show up for RV, and that made them willing to try more.

Well tbh the possibility of such thing seemed so far fetch back then. Company’s probably underestimated the power KPop has in other countries. Like think about SNSD probably could have toured in the Us and easily sell out shows but the idea of a KPop artist touring outside the Asian market probably seemed to risky.

The companies probably didn't want to take a risk. It's sad but even the top girl groups back then were underestimated in terms of how much people they can bring in with their tours. The normal tours were doing well so they probably thought that why fix it if it's not broken?

Dome is a huge risk. And while SoShi and KARA could have pulled out an outsell of those, K-Pop was really still kinda developing outside of Korea back then.
