Naruto's power creep towards to the end really destroyed the foundation and concept behind the series. What started off as ninjas finding their own path turned into a mini DBZ with world destroying powers. A great war was a fantastic idea to run with, for the ending but because the villains were so op, they had to make Naruto even more op and it all just turned into a "who's got more juice in their Kamehameha".
And in the span of how many years (3-7) they are able to soar, power wise, beyond all the jounin... Seems peculiar. And perhaps I'm alone in this, but.. the platonic relationships in DBZ seemed to be showcased more than any in Naruto...

Pokemon Sun and Moon anime is the Pokéanime’s best season and I will fight whoever says otherwise. The character development, the animation, the story arcs are all amazing episode 45 onwards (plus that Stoutland episode). Like the Aether Arc, Mallow’s backstory, etc say hello? And Misty and Brock come back. Twice.
For real? I'm in quite a nostalgic mood these days so I wouldn't mind watching some Pokemon again. A lot of people didn't like Sun and Moon because of the animation, didn't hear anything about the story though.

Yeah it really improved leap and bounds imo lel. Sure, the art style takes a while to get used to, but by the Aether arc (around episode 47 or so), the lines are much clearer and darker. Plus, the simpler art style allows much better animation for battle scenes.
And since the show is more slice of life without the Pokémon League, the characters are much better developed. Like they actually let Lillie explore a bit of her fear of Pokémon, and the trauma she had, as well as how she moved on from it. Sophocles dealt with a similar issue. Mallow had to deal with the guilt she carried for saying she hated her mother, which happened to be the last words she ever spoke to her mother, as her mother later died. Burnett and Kukui also marry so there’s that.
Another thing I love about SM is the way they also deal with more mature subjects like death. In the infamous Stoutland episode, there was a heavily implied Pokémon death. In another episode, you see hundreds, thousands, of Minior essentially die, turning into dust. As for Mallow, we see how she learned to move on from her words as a child, and to stop guilting herself. I really like how they not only show death, but how they also show how to move on from it, as hard as it can be.

Andd that’s it for mysteric’s gush for friggin Pokémon Sun and Moon.

I have been pretty suspicious of it, the character design especially for Ash is so far what I'm used of seeing that I was kinda going to pass it on that basis alone xd But if it's sth I can get used to eventually, I think it does sound pretty interesting. I'll have to finish Diamon and Pearl and watch X&Y before that though, but maybe I'll eventually get to Sun and Moon too ^^

Yeah the first time I watched it, I was like, ew what the art looks here and who thought it was a good idea to keep Mr friggin Mime? but now I’m pretty used to it. I just remembered about this, but the lesbian energy snapped in SM? looks at the Utena reference (thanks Mallow and Lillie) Oh yeah, they do a lot of random anime references in SM it’s actually great

Well when you put it like that, it does sound quite interesting. I might put it on my to watch list, especially if there is actual character development and maturer themes involved.

Pretty anxious to watch Promised Neverland after all these epic reviews. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype :sanapray:

Okay so Kaguya-sama didn't get as annoying as I thought it would. So far, so good. It is pretty funny. Yoda is pleased :maheart:

Imma give Kaguya sama 2 more eps and if it's still meh, I'm gonna drop it. It's funny and all but I don't feel like it's going anywhere. Also, that narrator gets on my nerves lol.
